CRISIS & REFERRAL
By Debi Hayes
I learned about The Basement Outreach Ministries through an article in the newspaper and literature at different community events that I attended. I wanted to help in some way and I knew I could do this by taking care of the Clothing Outreach/Distribution that coincides with the Tuesday Family Night Meal, Message/Teaching, and Food Distribution.
I have always liked being part of an organization that is truly passionate about their goals and mission and have personally experienced this last nine months that I have been serving as Clothing Coordinator. Having the opportunity to help provide families with a basic need, such as clothing, is rewarding and challenging. My husband, Paul, helps me with the clothing, and over the past several months, we have spoken with many people and families hearing first-hand about what has brought them to the Basement Ministries. I am humbled to be involved with Pastor Julia and many volunteers who work like a well-oiled machine to ensure The Basement Outreach Ministries runs smoothly to provide a variety of humanitarian aid and spiritual support and encouragement.
THANK YOU DEBI!

Taking the Food to the Community
We all have a role to play in Kingdom fruitfulness. I am reminded many times that how I handle what has been freely given to me is very important now and eternally. Beverly embraces her role and uses her God given opportunities fulfilling the call to feed the hungry. I’ve never met anyone like Beverly, she never says, “no, I can’t do that”. When a person or family is unable to come to the Basement, Beverly boxes up food and takes it to them. When I asked Beverly to write something about distributing food for The Basement, she said, “I love what I do at the Basement, I love helping people, and I love Jesus”. Beverly is taking food and God’s love to the community and God always has somebody that is in need. Thank you Beverly!
Beverly will take your call if you or someone you know needs food through a crisis situation or unable to physically come to the Basement to bring them food.

I started serving at the Basement Outreach in November 2015. For the past few years, God has been speaking to me a great deal about His love and what it looks like. After attending a fundraiser for the Basement in 2014, I knew this ministry showed the love of Christ to hurting people. Often I stand and look at those we serve and just think about how much God loves each one of them. I truly hope they feel the love God has for each one of them as we fellowship together each week. Serving as the transportation coordinator is just one simple thing I can do to help ensure that everyone who desires to join us at the Basement each week can get there. Community Bus Services is such a blessing and I'm thankful for our two faithful drivers, Joyce and Gert.
THANK YOU TAMMI!
